🌊🌾 Rheal Collagen Peptides FAQsUpdated 9 hours ago

Why have Rheal launched Collagen Peptides?

Collagen has become one of the most popular supplements in the wellness space, often associated with skin, joints, and overall health.

Following customer demand, we decided to launch a small number of our own collagen products – while staying true to the values that have always guided us: sourcing the highest quality ingredients, prioritising sustainability and transparency, and creating products we are genuinely proud of.

What is the difference between Marine and Bovine Collagen?

Choosing the right collagen comes down to your lifestyle and wellness goals.

Marine Collagen may be the best fit if your focus is supporting skin hydration, skin elasticity and healthy hair & nails.

Bovine Collagen may be the best fit if your focus is supporting joints & recovery, connective tissue, whole-body wellbeing and skin, hair & nails.

If you'd like to, you can take both Marine and Bovine collagen together, for broader benefits.

Where do you source your collagen?

Transparency matters to us, which is why we're proud to tell customers exactly where our collagen comes from.

Marine Collagen is sourced from MSC-certified wild-caught fish, while Bovine Collagen is sourced from premium grass-fed cattle.

We believe quality starts at the source, which is why we carefully select collagen peptides that meet our standards for traceability, quality and sustainability.

How much collagen does a serving provide?

Each serving of our Marine and Bovine Collagen contains 10,000mg hydrolysed collagen peptides.

We chose this amount because it's the dose most commonly used in collagen research and one that customers can take consistently as part of their daily routine.

Why is there added Vitamin C?

We have added Vitamin C because it contributes to normal collagen formation in the body.

While many collagen products focus only on the collagen itself, we wanted to create a formula that supports the process too.

How does Plant Collagen differ from Collagen Peptides?

Collagen itself is naturally found in animal and fish sources, which means there isn't currently such a thing as true vegan collagen peptides.

That's why our Plant Collagen takes a different approach. Rather than supplying collagen peptides directly, it contains Astrion® and Vitamin C to support your body's natural collagen production.

For customers looking for collagen peptides themselves, our Marine Collagen and Bovine Collagen both provide 10,000mg hydrolysed collagen peptides per serving, alongside added Vitamin C to support collagen formation.

At Rheal, we believe in Collagen, done properly. That means fully traceable sourcing, clinically relevant doses and no unnecessary fillers.

How do I use Collagen Peptides?

Our collagen powders are designed to fit easily into your everyday routine – simply mix one serving into your favourite drink, including coffee, matcha, smoothies, milk alternatives or water.

The hydrolysed collagen peptides dissolve easily, with a neutral taste and no clumping, making it simple to enjoy every day.

Consistency is key, so we recommend taking it daily as part of your wellness routine.

What is the recommended daily serving?

Our collagen powders are designed to fit easily into your everyday routine – simply mix one serving (10g) into your favourite drink, including coffee, matcha, smoothies, milk alternatives or water. You can even mix them into oats or yoghurt!

The hydrolysed collagen peptides dissolve easily, with a neutral taste and no clumping, making it simple to enjoy every day.

If you’d like to enjoy more than 1 serving, we would recommend that you stay under 20-25g per day – unless you've been specifically advised to take more by a healthcare practitioner.

When is the best time to take Collagen Peptides?

Our Collagen Peptides are designed to fit easily into your everyday routine, so can be taken any time of day that works for you.

We often find that taking them at the same time every day helps to establish the healthy habit – for example, mixed into your mid-morning cuppa. The hydrolysed collagen peptides dissolve easily, with a neutral taste and no clumping, making it simple to enjoy daily.

Can I use it alongside my other supplements?

Yes, collagen is safe to take alongside other supplements. If you are taking other supplements that also contain Vitamin C, we'd recommend that you double check your total intake.

Does it contain any sugars or sweeteners?

Rheal Collagen Peptides are completely free from sugar, flavours, sweeteners and unnecessary fillers. They have a neutral taste and do not clump, making it easy to fit into your daily routine.

Does it contain any allergens?

Bovine Collagen does not contain any of the 14 recognised allergens in the UK.

Marine Collagen does not contain 13 of the recognised allergens in the UK, however it does contain fish.

Do Collagen Peptides contain Caffeine?

No, our Collagen Peptides do not contain any caffeine or stimulants.

Will it break a fast?

Yes – because Collagen is a protein this would technically break a fast.

If you’re fasting for medical, religious, or very strict metabolic reasons, we’d recommend sticking to plain water.

Is it suitable for children and/or teens to take?

This product has been formulated for adults aged 18 and over.

If you are considering using it for a teenager, we recommend speaking with your GP, healthcare practitioner, or nutritionist, as the dose may need to be adjusted based on their age and individual needs.

Is it safe to use alongside medication?

Collagen is generally considered safe to take alongside most medications, with no well-established interactions. If you are taking prescription medication or have any concerns, please consult your GP, pharmacist, or healthcare practitioner before use.

Is it safe to use with a medical condition?

As with any medical condition, we recommend speaking with your GP or healthcare practitioner before taking any supplement. They can advise whether this product is appropriate for your individual circumstances and any medications you may be taking.

Is it safe to use when pregnant/breastfeeding?

Collagen is a protein, so there are currently no known safety concerns associated with collagen supplementation while breastfeeding. The amount of vitamin C included is also within safe limits.

However, there is limited research specifically investigating collagen supplements in breastfeeding women. As with any supplement while breastfeeding, we recommend speaking with your GP, midwife, or healthcare practitioner before use.

Are Collagen Peptides safe for diabetics?

Collagen itself does not contain added sugars and is not known to adversely affect blood glucose levels.

However, if you have diabetes or are taking medication to manage blood sugar, we recommend speaking with your GP, healthcare practitioner, or nutritionist before introducing any new supplement to your wellness routine.
